Home Additions & Renovations
We have designed a variety of residential improvements that include removing load bearing walls to connect rooms, filling in double height living spaces, enclosing porches to create additional living space, and building out attics. We have also designed complete home additions for additional bedroom suites, office space, or bonus rooms. We have designed a number of porch additions/ expansions in the front and rear of homes that have incorporated fireplaces, hot tubs, and even balconies above.
603 Front Street
Celebration, FL
This unique residence in Celebration, Florida also contains the Architectural offices of Bumpus & Associates. Located in the home business district of Disney's planned community, this building contains 3,000 SF of residence and 1,650 SF of office space. With separate entrances and addresses, the common notion of working at home has been redefined. The stately columns, porches, and balconies are all wrapped around a New Orleans-styled entrance courtyard complete with wrought iron fence, brick pavers, and a soothing fountain. The café takes the place of the traditional dining room and the angled, winding staircase offers a dramatic entrance. The interior is a mixture of vibrant colors, glass mosaic countertops, and murals. Each of the four bedrooms has a private bath and the "kid's" second floor living room doubles as a guest room with a Murphy bed. The 1,200 SF attic is carpeted and air conditioned to protect the thousands of pictures collected by the family since the early 1970's.
Carriage Houses
Over the past decade we have designed numerous carriage houses as rental units, guest spaces or even bonus spaces for hobbies / working from home. These additional spaces can be designed above / beside garages or even as stand-alone structures. We have designed a wide array of floor plans ranging from studios to larger 3-bedroom apartments and can even add a garage bay to increase the square footage. Added features such as balconies, walk-in closets, and vaulted ceilings have been incorporated to specialize and personalize units.
Reunion House
Kissimmee, FL
This golf course estate home is characterized as a true Florida style coastal home. Inside and out, metal, travertine, and granite work in concert with natural materials. The breathtaking views from each of the balconies overlook a 36-hole championship golf course. The 5,300 SF home, which features 4 bedrooms, expansive porches, a detached garage, a pool bath, and an interior elevator, easily accommodates the privacy and entertainment needs of people of all ages.
The first floor houses the main living areas which include the open kitchen, dining room (area), and living room. The second floor has three bedrooms that each open up to balconies that overlook the golf course and two full-size bathrooms with granite countertops. The home features wood floors throughout. The master suite is on the third floor with a full-size whirlpool bathtub and a Jacuzzi that is located on the porch just outside the master suite. All bathrooms have granite counter-tops and porcelain tile floors featuring showers with hand selected hardware and plumbing fixtures.

This Mediterranean inspired home has just under 4,000 SF of living space. It sits on a spacious estate lot overlooking the golf course in North Village and was built by Derrick Builders.
